Eligibility Requirements

Our 2019 annual scholarship competition is open to students who are U.S. residents or students at U.S. schools who fall within these three categories:
High school juniors and seniors
Students currently enrolled in two-year or four-year colleges or universities
Students currently enrolled in graduate school.
Applicants who are younger than age 17 must provide parental consent to enter. Employees of Mushkatel, Robbins & Becker, PLLC, Consultwebs, Inc., and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.

Application Process

Our goal is to foster discussion about the relationship between police agencies and communities while, at the same time, helping young people to pursue a higher education. Please read our rules, learn more about this exciting scholarship opportunity and make sure to submit your essay or video by our December 6th, 2019 deadline.
Your essay or video must address this topic:
What is your impression of law enforcement agencies’ relationships with their communities? Do those relationships need improvement? If so, how could they be improved? What solutions exist?
How do you enter the competition?
To enter our scholarship competition, you must submit:
An essay of 600 words or less (as a Word document in .doc or .docx format) or
A video of two minutes or shorter (in a readable format such as .avi or .mp4 format).
Only one essay or video is allowed per student. The essay or video must be original, and you must cite all sources of information. Plagiarism is a serious violation and will result in automatic disqualification.
Additionally, your submission must include:
A copy of your school transcript or proof of enrollment
A cover sheet with:
– Your name, address, and contact phone number
– The name and address of your school
– A photograph of yourself (in .jpeg format)
– A short bio of two-to-three sentences which describes yourself
– A signature of a parent or guardian (if you are younger than age 17).
