Eligibility Requirements

Twenty five (25) students completing a two-year, four-year, or trade/vocational certificate/certification program will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $10,000.00 for the 2021-2022 academic school year.
The Sallie Mae 2021-20222 Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program for High School Seniors (“Contest”) is open only to legal residents (U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551) of the fifty (50) United States,
Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia who
(i) are currently enrolled as a high school senior
(ii) plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school within one year of high school graduation
(iii) are able to demonstrate financial need by being Pell Grant-eligible
(iv) are a diverse candidate
“Diversity” shall include, but not limited to: gender; disability; race; ethnicity, and being from an underserved community
(v) are able to demonstrate leadership abilities
(vi) demonstrate good moral character in all aspects of his/her life, including personal, professional, educational, in his/her community, and
online presence in accordance with these official Rules (each, an “Entrant”).
Employees of the Sallie Mae Fund ("Sponsor"), Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund (“Administrator”) and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies (collectively “Related Entities”) and members of their immediate family or household of each are not eligible.
Void where prohibited by law. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Application Process

All Applicants Must:
Provide a copy of the 2021- 2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Fall/ 2020 and a cumulative GPA.
Please provide an email address for one recommender to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
Answer the following statement Hirevue (Maximum of 250 words per question):
How will your education benefit you, your family, and the community?
What are 3 short-term goals (academic, financial, personal, professional, etc.) that are important for you to achieve and how will this
scholarship help you bridge the gap to your goals?
